The New Orleans Saints have reportedly released tight end Coby Fleener, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. Herbie Teope of NFL.com also confirmed the news.

Fleener had spent the last two seasons with the Saints after signing a five-year deal prior to the 2016 season. According to Spotrac, the team will now have $8.2 million of dead cap, a high number considering his $8 million cap hit for 2018.
New Orleans re-acquired Benjamin Watson in the offseason from the Ravens.
Fleener聽joined the team in 2016 after spending four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. While he often split time with Dwayne Allen, he showed a lot of promise, including in 2014 when he had 774 yards and eight touchdowns on a team that went to the AFC Championship Game.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to replicate this success, and he could find a tough time finding Womens Yasiel Puig Jersey much of a market in free agency after last year’s struggles.
A restructuring could be mutually beneficial. Gronkowski would perhaps get more guaranteed money, while the Patriots could spread a bonus over multiple years on their salary cap. The Patriots could give Gronkowski his 2018 base salary as a signing bonus, add an artificial year in 2020 to his contract and spread that over the next three seasons.
Whatever they choose, the Patriots are likely just happy to have Gronkowski back in the fold. The oft-injured tight end flirted with retirement throughout the offseason before informing the team of his plan to return last month.
